How is your business going?

Some businesses are “going gangbusters” in the COVID era. Their niche products or services are able to be delivered and they are in high demand. Other businesses are more vulnerable – either because of the nature of their products and services or because of disruptions to the availability of resources those products and services rely on.

Where mitigating, responding to and managing impacts has been flawed or inconsistent, risk has been transferred to others. We have all been “dragged down to the dotted line” (see the graph below). Again, we have been dragged down variably – some more than others, some in different ways than others.

Even well prepared organizations can be dragged down to the dashed line.

Changing times challenge you to “stay alive today and bloom tomorrow”. As such, these times present us with an opportunity to review and rebound. To re-assess, from purpose and objectives through to products, services, critical activities – and the resource configurations which support them.

“Business Continuity” can provide a useful lens if used to support nimble thinking and resilient arrangements.
